CALLICOON – The body of a man whose pickup truck was found half-submerged in the fast-moving water of the North Callicoon Creek in the Town of Callicoon, was found over 2.6 miles downstream from the truck early Wednesday morning.
State Police said Jesus Arroyo Ortega, 39, of Livingston Manor was driving his truck on North Branch Road when he was involved in a crash with a utility pole.
Troopers were called to the scene of the pickup truck in the water and when they investigated, found Arroyo Ortega’s body downstream.
The investigation is continuing.
State Police were assisted at the scene by the North Branch and Hortonville fire departments, Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office and state forest rangers.
