ASHBY — A group of seniors recently took a trip to Boston for an adventure.
Friends of the Ashby Seniors event coordinator Susan Clement reported that 56 people boarded the bus on July 22 “and headed to a wonderful full course sit down lunch” at Chateau Restaurant in Waltham and then on to the harbor in Boston for a two-hour cruise.
“The weather was beautiful and the company was great,” Clement said of the fun outing.
She has been volunteering with the Ashby Council on Aging (COA) for many years and helps raise money to partially pay for events such as this. They have an ongoing fundraising campaign that includes bake sales, murder mystery dinners, and a chili cookoff, to name a few, and there is a chowder fest planned for later this year along with a Christmas fair on Nov. 21.
“We have more trips coming up,” Clement said, adding that the next one is to York, Maine for a lobster bake.
