Pet of the Week: Kirara is a cute calico cat

Meet Kirara — a young calico female cat whose litter has been raised. She now seeks a loving home for herself.

Currently at Pat Brody Shelter for Cats in Lunenburg, volunteers report “she is very gentle and loving and loves to talk. She is good with other cats and dogs.”

“Kirara” is Japanese for “sparkling” or “shining,” (like mica). It is also used in reference to bright and eye-catching clothing — such as Kirara’s black mask overlaying orange fur, and a white bib beneath.

Calico cats are known for their memorable “crazy quilt” coats and their intelligence. She’s just 2 years old.
