LEOMINSTER — Leominster High School senior Danica Carlberg was recently awarded a $1,000 scholarship from ConvenientMD as part of the organization’s annual Student Scholarship Program.
This year, ConvenientMD awarded a total of $20,000 in scholarships to 11 graduating seniors across Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts who plan to pursue higher education in healthcare-related fields.
“Our Scholarship Committee was incredibly impressed by Danica Carlberg’s commitment to academic excellence and passion for strong clinical knowledge and empathetic care,” said Stephanie Buell, community partnerships manager at ConvenientMD. “This scholarship is one of the many ways ConvenientMD invests in the communities we serve, and we’re excited to support students who are dedicated to improving the health and well-being of others.”
Since launching the scholarship program in 2022, ConvenientMD has awarded more than $76,000 to students pursuing careers in health care. Company representatives said the program is one of many ways ConvenientMD supports healthier communities through educational initiatives, community partnerships and increased access to care.
ConvenientMD operates 51 urgent care clinics across Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts, including its location at 20 Commercial Road in Leominster, near the Mall at Whitney Field. Clinics are open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. for minor emergency needs.
In addition to urgent care services, ConvenientMD expanded into primary care in 2022 to address the growing need for accessible, relationship-centered health care. ConvenientMD currently operates primary care practices in Bangor and Portland, Maine, as well as Exeter, Manchester and Portsmouth, New Hampshire, with a new location in Waterville, Maine, scheduled to open later this year.
