Chloe Fineman is bidding adieu to “Saturday Night Live” after seven seasons at the NBC sketch staple.

Fineman’s exit, first reported by Deadline, marks the first of the “SNL” players following the show’s 51st season wrapped. The outlet reports that such an exit is customary for stand-out players upon the end of the initial seven-year contract.

“After 7 wonderful seasons at ‘SNL’ I have decided it’s time for my next chapter,” Fineman announced Thursday afternoon, following Deadline’s initial report. “It’s cliche to say this but working at ‘SNL’ has been the greatest privilege of my life. I still can’t really believe I got to be a part of it. I fell in love with the place the second I walked through the door.”

Fineman addressed “SNL” creator Lorne Michaels, in case he was reading her message “on your burner account”: “I want you to know that I am forever in your debt.”

“Every day I was lucky enough to be surrounded by the best people in the business, and I was constantly amazed watching them work,” said Fineman. “It’s really hard to leave ‘SNL’ but it does feel like the right time. … The people who work there are my family and that place is my home, and I know I’ll never be too far away.”

Fineman is in negotiations for Netflix’s “Myron Bolitar,” another in the streamer’s long line of Harlan Coben adaptations, insiders told Deadline.

Bowen Yang, a fellow “SNL” breakout, departed the show in December, in the wake of the landmark 50th season and subsequent mass exodus among the cast, including Heidi Gardner and Ego Nwodim. Celeste Yim, the show’s first out trans and nonbinary staff writer, was also among the swath of exits.
