President Donald Trump’s latest financial disclosure reveals that while he and his family actively promoted several high-profile cryptocurrency ventures, a substantial share of the billions of dollars generated from those projects was ultimately invested in more traditional financial assets such as stocks and bonds.
The disclosure, filed with the U.S. Office of Government Ethics, shows that Trump earned more than $1.4 billion during the past year from cryptocurrency-related ventures, including World Liberty Financial and the Trump meme coin. The filings provide one of the clearest pictures yet of how the president’s personal finances have changed as his family’s involvement in the digital asset industry has rapidly expanded.
According to an analysis of Trump’s financial disclosures covering the past two years, his holdings in traditional investment assets increased dramatically as cryptocurrency-related income flowed into his portfolio. By the end of 2025, Trump reported holding between $703 million and $2.6 billion in stocks, bonds, and other conventional investments. That compares with holdings valued between $225 million and $608 million at the end of 2024, representing at least a fourfold increase.
Federal financial disclosure forms report many assets using broad value ranges rather than exact amounts, making it impossible to determine precisely how much of Trump’s cryptocurrency earnings were transferred into traditional investments. Nevertheless, the disclosures indicate that a significant portion of his growing wealth is now tied to long-established financial markets rather than digital currencies alone.
The filings suggest that while Trump continues to maintain sizeable cryptocurrency holdings, his broader investment strategy remains diversified. Financial experts who reviewed the disclosures said the documents indicate a preference for balancing exposure to high-risk digital assets with investments generally viewed as more stable over the long term.
Trump has frequently promoted digital assets and has pledged to make the United States a global leader in cryptocurrency innovation. Throughout his campaign and presidency, he has argued that the country should become the “crypto capital of the world,” while supporting policies intended to encourage growth in the digital asset industry.
Despite that public support, several digital asset specialists noted that Trump’s personal investment decisions appear more conservative than his public messaging might suggest. They pointed to the rapid expansion of his stock and bond portfolio as evidence that a substantial share of profits generated from cryptocurrency ventures was redirected into conventional financial markets.
Timothy Massad, director of the Digital Assets Policy Project at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government and former chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, said the disclosure suggests Trump has used cryptocurrency ventures to generate profits while relying on traditional investments to preserve wealth. According to Massad, the filings indicate that the president continues to view stocks and bonds as an important foundation of his personal financial strategy despite his strong public advocacy for digital assets.
The financial disclosure also shows that Trump continues to hold a significant stake in World Liberty Financial, the cryptocurrency company he co-founded with members of his family. At the end of 2025, he reported owning 15.75 billion World Liberty governance tokens, which were listed with a reported value exceeding $50 million. Those tokens were awarded in connection with his role in establishing the company.
Because of his position as a co-founder, Trump’s ownership is reportedly subject to a longer vesting schedule than that applied to many other investors, limiting the speed at which he can sell or transfer portions of his holdings.
In addition to those governance tokens, the disclosure shows that business entities responsible for managing Trump’s interests in World Liberty Financial and the Trump meme coin held at least $160 million worth of Bitcoin and Ethereum, the world’s two largest cryptocurrencies by market value. The entities also reported owning up to $6 million in other digital tokens at the end of 2025.
Those cryptocurrency holdings represent a significant increase from the previous year’s disclosure, when Trump reported holding between $1 million and $5 million worth of Ethereum. The latest filing indicates that the president’s overall exposure to digital assets continued to grow even as much of his expanding wealth was allocated to traditional investments.
Notably, the disclosure does not list personal investments by Trump in two publicly traded cryptocurrency companies that have received backing from his sons, Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr. While both have become prominent advocates for cryptocurrency investments, the filing indicates that the president did not report purchasing shares in those companies during the reporting period.
A spokesperson for the Trump Organization said the financial disclosure demonstrates that the president’s business interests remain in a strong financial position, supported by valuable assets, substantial liquidity, and what the company described as a conservative balance sheet. The spokesperson did not address why a significant portion of cryptocurrency-related earnings appears to have been invested in stocks and bonds.
The White House also stated that the president’s assets are managed through fully discretionary investment accounts overseen by independent third-party financial institutions, emphasizing that professional managers are responsible for investment decisions involving those accounts.
David Wachsman, a spokesperson for World Liberty Financial, said the company was built with a long-term vision and continues to believe that digital asset technology will play a central role in the future of global financial services.
Trump’s sons continue to play a leading role in promoting the family’s cryptocurrency ventures. They oversee the trust responsible for managing the president’s financial interests and have regularly appeared at industry conferences and media events highlighting the potential of digital assets.
Since late 2024, Eric Trump has repeatedly described Bitcoin as one of the most valuable investment opportunities of the modern era. Speaking at conferences and in media interviews, he has predicted that the cryptocurrency could eventually reach $1 million per coin, compared with prices around $64,000 during the period referenced in the disclosure. He has also said that President Trump strongly believes in the long-term future of digital assets.
Neither Eric Trump nor Donald Trump Jr. publicly commented on questions regarding the president’s broader investment strategy.
The latest financial disclosure highlights the dual nature of Trump’s expanding business interests. While the president has become one of the most visible political supporters of cryptocurrency and continues to hold substantial digital asset investments, the filings also show that much of the wealth generated by those ventures has been directed toward traditional financial instruments. The disclosures provide a detailed snapshot of how the president has balanced high-growth cryptocurrency investments with more conventional assets as his family’s presence in the digital finance industry continues to expand.
