MID-HUDSON – The Village of Ellenville and the hamlet of Livingston Manor in the Town of Rockland have been selected to each receive $4.5 million through the state’s NY Forward program.
At the same time, the City of Yonkers has been chosen to receive the region’s $10 million Downtown Revitalization Initiative grant.
Ellenville Mayor Evan Trent said their grant will “build on the organic growth Ellenville has made and push forward transformative projects.” He said the funding will help “leverage this opportunity to strengthen our downtown, support economic development and enhance the quality of life for everyone who calls Ellenville home.”
Ulster County Executive Jen Metzger said the grant “will enable Ellenville to expand housing, build on its arts and cultural foundation, enhance public spaces and support the local economy.”
Livingston Manor looks to invest in housing, infrastructure and public spaces that strengthen its walkable downtown and support sustainable growth.
Rockland Town Supervisor Robert Eggleton said its NY Forward grant “will catalyze our downtown business initiative while strengthening our thriving community, a place visit, recreate and call home.”
All three communities were selected by the Mid-Hudson Regional Economic Development Council, whose co-chairwomen, Dr. Marsha Gordon and Dr. Kristine Young, issued a joint statement.
“Yonkers, Ellenville and Livingston Manor each brought forward bond, community-driven visions rooted in their own distinct character and potential. Whether along the Hudson waterfront, in the Rondout Valley or in the heart of the Catskills, these communities are ready to build on existing momentum and write their next chapter of growth,” the co-chairs said.
