LIBERTY – Sullivan BOCES has received authorization to move forward with the search for a new district superintendent. The post was left vacant by the retirement of Dr. Robert Dufour.

Prior to the start of the search, the study, as required by state law, mandates that whenever a BOCES superintendent vacancy occurs, the State Education Commissioner must determine whether redistricting or reorganization is advisable before a search can commence.

Sullivan BOCES is working with the Broome-Tioga BOCES District Superintendent Dr. Rebecca Stone to conduct a confidential search. That will incorporate feedback from students, faculty, staff, and component school districts.
