GOSHEN – The Orange County Board of Elections has certified that Kenyon Trachte, the Working Families Party candidate, has won the June 23 party primary for Newburgh Town Justice with 77 percent of the vote.

Trachte will appear on the Democratic and Working Families lines in the November election.

“This is the first step toward seeing this WFP-endorsed candidate as our next Town of Newburgh justice,” said Sara Maida, outreach chair of the Newburgh Working Families Club. “Kenyon will serve with integrity and a commitment to ensuring working families in our community receive equitable treatment.”

Trachte’s opponent was Anthony LoBiondo, who had gained the required number of signatures
to force a primary. The pair are running to fill the seat being vacated by Town Justice Jude Martini, who is retiring at the end of the year after more than two decades on the bench. Trachte has the Democratic line, and LoBiondo is running as a Republican.
