Summer means living the good life and for many that signals vacation time by the sea.
No one is thinking much of theater this weekend with America’s 250th birthday looming on July 4. But that doesn’t mean we can still make plans for after the 4th.
Betrayal, award-winning playwright Harold Pinter’s classic play told in reverse, plays Gloucester Stage Company July 9-August 1.
Here’s a summary: “After Jerry and Emma collide for the last time, their final encounter unfolds into a seven year long, torrid love triangle entangled with secrets, deception, and Emma’s husband Robert. Throughout this backwards tailspin, the three navigate unexpected impulses, forbidden trysts, and their own feelings of betrayal”.
