GARDNER — All aboard for a suspense-filled theatrical journey as Agatha Christie’s classic mystery “Murder on the Orient Express” comes to Theatre at the Mount.

When a snowstorm stops the luxurious train in its tracks, a shocking murder is discovered — and every passenger becomes a suspect. At the center of the investigation is famed detective Hercule Poirot, whose sharp intellect and iconic mustache are tested as he unravels a complex web of secrets, lies and hidden motives.

With its period glamour, dramatic twists, and unforgettable characters, the production promises an evening of classic whodunit intrigue where audiences can try to solve the mystery before Poirot does.

The production will be directed by Craig Cormier and is seeking a cast of 10 adult actors.

“Murder on the Orient Express is such a fun, character‑driven mystery, and we’d love to see new and familiar faces take a chance on it,” said Gail Steele, Theatre at the Mount executive director. “If you’ve ever thought about stepping onstage, this is a wonderful moment to jump in.”

Auditions will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, July 13, and Wednesday, July 15, in Room A110, Mount Wachusett Community College, 444 Green St. All auditions are by appointment only and will consist of cold readings from the script.

To schedule an audition, call 978-630-9388 or email [email protected].

Performance dates are scheduled for Oct. 2, 3, 9, and 10 at 7:30 p.m., with matinees on Oct. 4 and 11 at 2 p.m. Rehearsals are tentatively planned for Sundays from 6 to 9 p.m. and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 to 10 p.m.
