PUTNAM VALLEY- A deputy sheriff’s routine traffic stop on the Taconic State Parkway in Putnam Valley for an alleged turn-signal violation led to the arrest of two Dutchess County men on felony weapon possession charges.
On Monday, Sheriff Brian Hess reported the arrests of Kiam Gory, 36, of Beacon and Curtis Lunsford, 47, of Wappingers Falls.
According to the sheriff, deputies recovered a loaded pistol with a high-capacity magazine from the Honda after stopping it.
Both men were charged with criminal possession of a weapon, including charges related to a prior conviction.
The pair was arraigned in Putnam Valley Town Court. Gory was remanded to the Putnam Correctional Facility on a $50,000 bond while Lunsford was sent to jail without bail due to two previous felony convictions.
