POUGHKEEPSIE – Less than 24 hours after the return of the First Friday celebration, a mere hundred yards away, the Financial Parking Deck (FPD) was the site of vandalism.  On Saturday evening, one or more individuals broke several windows in the city-owned parking deck stairwell.

At least five windows were shattered, leaving the sidewalk and stairwell closest to the bus stops covered in glass fragments.

The FPD is heavily used during the workweek by county employees and community members conducting business in the court system or at local businesses.

In recent years, several windows on the south side of the same stairwell have been shattered and left unrepaired while city officials determine the best replacement options.
