PLATTEKILL – A fire at a home on Fox Hill Road Friday night required multiple fire departments to knock down the flames. The blaze is under investigation by the Hudson Valley Arson & Explosives Task Force.
The Plattekill FD responded to the structure fire on Fox Hill Road just after 9 pm Friday and observed heavy flames and smoke in the home’s garage when they arrived. A second alarm was sounded, bringing the Cronomer Valley and Coldenham fire departments to the scene. With a lack of fire hydrants, a third alarm was struck to bring water tankers to the fire from the Modena, Wallkill, and Orange Lake fire departments.
A portion of the house collapsed during the fire.
