GOSHEN- Orange County election officials are reminding eligible voters that early voting for the June 23 Primary Election begins Saturday, June 13, offering residents nine days to cast their ballots before election day.
Polls for the primary election will be open countywide from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23. Because New York conducts closed primaries, only voters registered with eligible political parties may participate in their party’s contests.
This year’s ballot includes Democratic primary races for state comptroller and the 39th State Senate District, Conservative Party contests in the 42nd Senate District and 99th Assembly District, a Republican primary for Town of Chester Ward 1 council member, and a Working Families Party race for Town of Newburgh justice.
Early voting will run through June 21 at eight locations across Orange County, including sites in Middletown, Newburgh, Port Jervis, Goshen, Montgomery, Monroe, New Windsor,, and Warwick. Hours vary by day, with evening, daytime and weekend options available.
Voters who prefer to vote by mail may still request an absentee or early mail ballot in person at the Orange County Board of Elections office in Goshen or apply online through the county website.
