MEDITERRANEAN SEA – The Global Sumud Flotilla, a nonviolent group that seeks to interrupt what it describes as the siege on Gaza, says it has received confirmation that an Israeli naval assault on the high-seas in the Mediterranean took the occupants of the La Cirena ship and were expected to transport them to Israel.

One of those aboard the Flotilla ship was Liam Henrie, captain aboard the Hudson River Sloop Clearwater last season, the group said.

Global Sumud Flotilla said Henrie’s whereabouts have not been confirmed, but they suspect he was transported to Israel. Mid-Hudson News has been unable to confirm the validity of the report.

The Flotilla ship was carrying doctors, journalists and human rights defenders from over 40 nations, leaders said.
