Base has begun to show potential within the cryptocurrency space as a result of increasing on-chain transactions, as well as increasing stablecoin usage and increased user activity on the platform. Analysts have noted increases in transaction activity and the use of USDC as indicators of greater adoption by users.

In a post published on X by crypto analyst Trireme, the comparison of Base with other crypto networks, including Solana and Arbitrum, was made. It was noted that Solana remains the leader in decentralized exchange trading, while Arbitrum boasts healthy bridge transaction inflows. Base was said to distinguish itself through user activity and ecosystem participation.

Stablecoin Activity Expands on Base

The social media post alluded to numbers that related to Coinbase’s Q1 2026 financial performance statistics. According to the metrics provided, transaction volumes for stablecoins on Base were ten times higher year over year.

The statistics further indicated that USDC on Base currently constitutes more than 90% of onchain agentic commerce volumes. This is an indication of increasing automation of blockchain payment systems through the use of stablecoins.

Stablecoin adoption has been continuously monitored in the Ethereum Layer-2 scaling ecosystems. With reduced transaction fees and rapid transaction settlements, more market players are gravitating towards scaling networks such as Base.

Coinbase Ecosystem Records Revenue Growth

In addition, the post cited growth for some of the products associated with the Base ecosystem on Coinbase. In this regard, it is worth mentioning that the average balance of USDC stored in various Coinbase products grew by 55% year-over-year.

Trading volumes of derivatives products related to Coinbase increased by 169%. This may indicate increased participation of users who trade financial products based on cryptocurrencies.

As per the post, 12 different Coinbase products have been reported to earn more than $100 million annually at the time of writing. These figures were employed to justify statements about ecosystem diversification at Coinbase.

Base Competes in the Layer-2 Sector

The competition between Base and other blockchain projects competing for supremacy in decentralized finance and payments infrastructure remains fierce. Crypto analysts have monitored the increased use of Layer-2 blockchains due to the growing adoption of blockchain technology.

As explained in X, Base is seen as a nascent distribution layer for stablecoins, payments, and on-chain financial operations. It underscores the general industry emphasis on blockchain networks that facilitate digital payments and tokenized commerce.
