Every Season is special in its theatricals, ambiance and the folklore that makes it more unique and worth celebrating. Every story is tangled with a cultural perspective of a tale that continues to bring people together. From Halloween and its dark theatricals that makes one jump from their own seat looking for shelter, to Easter that enhances spring time with its pastel colors and the activities that are more of a family union than any other thing. But despite it all, Christmas remains on top of every celebratory holiday. It’s not just about welcoming winter after months of sunny days and finally having the opportunity to put on the fits that we bought and prepared just for. It’s more.
It’s the anticipation of a season that is as magical as a much awaited royal masquerade. The connections that are made with strangers whom we never thought existed, the pop-up markets with everyone’s favorite hot cocoa and marshmallows that makes every thought of calories go away. It’s the link and the love that brings people together despite their backgrounds and status. Its all about being a human and living the moment no matter what one is going through. For this is life, and one shall embrace it with open arms in spite of the sadness and depression that comes for a visit sometimes.
Writers have always embraced yearning in romance books, the forbidden love that separated couples despite their deep desire to be together and the emotional anticipation of a one-sided attachment that bides time for the other to notice. But little do they know about the yearning that comes after the Holidays Season and the silent goodbyes that one has to internally bid to everyone and everything. From Christmas markets shutting their doors and your favorite vendors and baristas giving you the silent farewell hug, followed by ‘see you next season!’. All the way to the strangers whom you witnessed their love story evolve from afar and decided to continue what they have, the friends who extended their group with others, making it an international community of their own, and most importantly the solo riders in life who enjoyed every second of the season despite being on their own. This is where one is forced to forbid goodbye, not only to the season and the weather, but to every story that was created and every flight that will be taken by visitors who came in to spend the season with their loved ones.

Saying Goodbye to Christmas is one the hardest farewells in life, and the entertainment industry are well aware of it that they have kept an eye on every jolly detail that brought people together in the season and made everyone simply happy. That said, nowadays the collection of Christmas movies are not bound to the season only. It’s an all-season variety for everyone to enjoy and make Christmas a weekly gathering and a theme to celebrate, even if it’s a normal Tuesday evening in May.
It’s one of the easy ways to turn every day into a Christmas Holiday. A much needed break to and preparation for the next season. The yearning and desperate reach and need for the festivity is a universal emotion we all share. Although we can’t bring back the Christmas markets, chilly weather, the special hot cocoas served, and the strangers who left their marks and stories for us to remember by, we can still bring up the emotions into our homes and enjoy it. Even if it’s for a few hours with a small group or solo. As long as we’ll get the sense of euphoria, then nothing else matters.
And jumping into the warmth of the season can only start with everyone’s favorite 5 Christmas films, even though it’s May !
