YONKERS – The Poughkeepsie High School softball team needed only nine players to earn another impressive victory away on Friday, defeating Barack Obama School of Social Justice of Yonkers, 11-6.  The team is continuing to build on the best record in recent years, now boasting a 7-3 record.

Lily Guido once again dominated in the circle, recording nine strikeouts to lead the Pioneers, and behind the plate, Myasia Brink provided steady defense.

Offensively, it was a complete team effort, with seven of the nine Pioneers crossing the plate. Danna Pacheco, Lily Guido, and Anya Gilbert each drove in two runs, while Jada Charles added an RBI of her own.

Poughkeepsie returns to action on Monday at 4:30 p.m. when they host Charles E. Gorton High School at Poughkeepsie High School.
