Dave Coulier provided fans with a health update after they expressed concern about his gaunt appearance in a recent post on social media.
“I haven’t posted in quite a while. The last time I did, some of you said I looked differently and I sound differently. I do,” the 66-year-old actor said in a video shared to Instagram on Thursday. “What you are seeing is the side effect of the extensive radiation that I went through for carcinoma in my throat, and I haven’t been able to eat solid food in months.”
The “Full House” alum in November 2024 revealed he’d been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma. After months of intense radiation, Coulier announced he was cancer-free in March 2025, only to learn in December of that year that he also had HPV-related oropharyngeal tongue cancer, which can cause “a long-lasting sore throat, earaches, hoarseness, swollen lymph nodes, pain when swallowing, and unexplained weight loss,” according to the Centers for Disease Control.
In February, Coulier declared he was in remission, following 35 sessions radiation.
The funnyman on Thursday revealed he lost 45 lbs. during his treatment, which he said has also affected his ability to speak.
“Some of you said that I sound differently,” he said. “So yeah, you’re right on with what you’re seeing and what you’re hearing.”
Amid his ongoing recovery, Coulier said he has taken to enjoying his passions, like artwork and creative writing, in addition to building his brand, Awear.
He concluded his message: “I hope good comes to all of you”
