PEPPERELL — Girl Scout Troop 65397 celebrated Earth Day on April 22 in a meaningful way by planting a weeping cherry tree at the Community Church of Pepperell with help from their two younger siblings.
The new tree was planted in place of an older tree that was originally planted as a memorial tree for a special member of the church, giving the memorial new life again.
The girls worked together to give back to the Earth, showing their commitment to caring for nature and making the world a better place as part of the Girl Scout Tree Promise.
This tree will grow as a lasting reminder of their kindness, teamwork and dedication to protecting the planet and supporting the community for many years to enjoy.
The project was sponsored by Babin Landscaping of Pepperell.
