Ashby chili cookoff … and the winners are …

ASHBY — Over four dozen people attended the chili cookoff held recently at the senior center.

Everyone who attended the Friends of the Ashby Council on Aging event hosted by the seniors did a blind sampling of seven different varieties of chili that were entered and then voted for the one they liked the best.

Hotdogs and corn muffins with chili were also offered and the winners were awarded gold, silver and bronze soup ladles.

Kevin Meehan came in first, Pastor Kenny Johnson second and Ken Reynolds third.

COA volunteer Susan Clement reported that a chowder fest is being planned for later this year.
