LANCASTER — The Thayer Memorial Library recently received an unrestricted gift from Rich Marcello, President of the Seven Bridge Writers’ Collaborative, to support its ongoing commitment to reading, writing, and literary culture.
Founded in Lancaster, the Seven Bridge Writers’ Collaborative began as a grassroots effort to foster a vibrant and supportive writing community in Central Massachusetts. Established by a small group of working writers and arts advocates, and working in collaboration with Assistant Director Nancy Clune, the organization brought together individuals united by a shared commitment to language, storytelling, and literary craft. Through workshops, critique groups, public readings, and literary discussions, the Collaborative created both a learning environment and a strong sense of community for writers at every stage of experience.
Although the original founding group later sought to disband, a subsequent group of participants sustained the organization for several additional years. The Seven Bridge Writers’ Collaborative has since formally disbanded, and Mr. Marcello is distributing remaining funds as gifts to libraries associated with the group.
In keeping with the Collaborative’s mission and focus on writing and literature, this one-time gift will be used to support a collection development initiative, enabling the Library to purchase new books for the community.
The Library appreciates this generous contribution, which honors the legacy of the Seven Bridge Writers’ Collaborative while continuing to invest in access to literature and lifelong learning.
