LEOMINSTER — Green Leaf Construction of Leominster recently secured the design-builder contract to create a massive central distribution facility for the F.W. Webb Co., which distributes plumbing supplies, in Hazelton, Pennsylvania.
Construction is currently underway on the new facility, which will expand F.W. Webb’s distribution capabilities in the mid-Atlantic region and support continued growth. This marks the second large-scale central distribution facility Green Leaf has built for F.W. Webb.

Once complete, the 738,000-square-foot facility will serve as a modern logistics hub featuring high-bay storage, a robotic pick module, truck loading infrastructure and insulated metal panel construction designed to support high-volume distribution operations.
“The project came about as a result of our long-standing relationship and strong reputation with a repeat customer, who was looking to expand their logistics operations in the Pennsylvania area,” said Green Leaf Construction Project Executive Mike Vogel. “This project is especially meaningful for us — not just because of its scale, but because it represents new territory for both Green Leaf and our customer. It’s a true flagship project for an important partner.”
Due to the region’s challenging rock conditions, the project site required significant early-stage preparation. Green Leaf Construction began construction in late September, executing granite blasting of more than one million cubic yards of material, much of which has been crushed and repurposed on site for grading, stabilization, and infrastructure construction.
Among the project’s most notable infrastructure elements will be a 289,000-gallon fire protection water storage tower, designed to support advanced fire protection systems throughout the facility. Additional operational features will include 70 loading dock doors, dedicated truck wash facilities and large-scale warehouse space designed for efficient product handling and storage.
As construction continues through 2026, the project will soon move into the next major phase, with foundation work beginning later this month and structural steel scheduled to follow thereafter. The facility remains on track for a spring 2027 opening, marking a significant expansion of F.W. Webb Company’s distribution network and another successful collaboration with Green Leaf Construction.

In other Green Leaf Construction news, it was announced earlier this month that the 14 Manning Ave. headquartered company earned a National Health and Safety Merit Award from Associated Builders and Contractors, which was presented at the 36th annual Excellence in Construction Awards during ABC Convention 2026 in Salt Lake City in March.
According to a press release, presented to just 59 contractors nationwide, Green Leaf Construction earned the award for their excellence in health and safety on a national level.
“This award is a testament to all of the team members at Green Leaf. Without their knowledge, expertise and ongoing commitment to doing things right while sending everyone home safe at the end of the day, we would not have achieved this recognition,” said Green Leaf Construction President Andy McBeth.
The 2026 Chair of the ABC National Board of Directors Thomas Murphy, who is vice president of Power & Construction Group out of Scottsville, New York, conveyed that “the safety record of Green Leaf speaks for itself, setting the standard for a culture of care for its people.”
“Safety values remain consistent for Green Leaf, which are nearly seven times safer than the industry average” Murphy shared. “They are employers of choice because they refuse to compromise on health and safety for every single employee. Thank you to these safety leaders for transforming the status quo.”
