🔥PLA Launches "Sharp Sword 2025" Full Equipment Quality Purge and Audit

The following is a message circulating in Chinese WeChat groups. From the current situation of the CCP's military purge, I think it might be true:

🚨 At present, the entire PLA is carrying out a "large-scale inventory check + retrospective investigation" campaign, and it is a serious, full-coverage operation that includes auditing and technical testing, not just a formality.

I. Name: Operation Sharp Sword - 2025 PLA Equipment Quality Special Action (from the end of 2025 to continuing in 2026)

🔴 Method: Four "No's" and Two "Directs" (no notice issued, no greeting made, no listening to reports, no accompanying personnel; go straight to the warehouses and go straight to the sites)

🔴 Scope: 53 key weapon depots, ammunition depots, and combat readiness equipment depots across the entire PLA.

In-service aircraft, missiles, radars, and engines of the Air Force, Navy, and Rocket Force.

All in-production, in-stock, and already delivered items from military industrial groups, with full-chain traceability.

Retrospective investigation of all old accounts from procurement, acceptance, warehousing, and maintenance in the past 9-15 years.

II. What does the "inventory check" examine?

1⃣ Account-item verification (the most basic): whether the quantity is correct, whether the batch is correct, whether the serial number is correct. Whether there is passing off old as new, repackaging, changing labels, or re-labeling expired items with new dates.

2⃣ Actual technical performance testing (the harshest):

🔴 For missiles/ammunition: disassemble for inspection, X-ray imaging, explosive charge weighing, fuze testing.

🔴 For radar/electronics: power on to measure power, measure range, measure anti-jamming capability, measure TR components.

🔴 For aircraft/engines: disassemble and inspect key parts, measure strength, check materials, look for cracks/rust.

3⃣ Supply chain retrospective investigation (digging out corruption):

🔴 Check contracts, invoices, inspection reports, acceptance signatures, and expert review records.

🔴 Check supplier qualifications, material sources, whether there is passing off inferior as superior, or changing civilian standards to military standards.

🔴 Check for shadow companies, related-party transactions, or experts setting up their own companies to bid and review.

III. "Watered-down/Sand-filled" level problems already discovered (notified by the Central Military Commission)

1⃣ Ammunition category:

○ A certain batch of missiles/artillery shells with rusted fuzes, insufficient explosive charge, adulterated impurities, and expired items re-packaged.

○ Hand grenades with insufficient explosive quantity, filled with sand/soil/sawdust to make up the weight.

○ During exercises: misfires, premature explosions, barrel bursts, and severely reduced power.

2⃣ Radar/electronics category:

○ KLJ-7A and Air Police-500 radars: TR components downgraded, chips passed off as inferior, falsely claimed power.

○ Losing targets in high-temperature or complex electromagnetic environments, system crashes, and falsified anti-jamming performance.

○ Radios/avionics: falsified parameters and severely shortened mean time between failures.

3⃣ Aircraft/engines category:

○ Key bolts/bearings of fighter jets counterfeited as military-grade, with insufficient material strength.

○ Engine lifespan falsely claimed, high failure rate, loose parts and oil leaks.

IV. Why carry out large-scale inventory checks now?

1⃣ Anti-corruption forced:

The fall of a group of executives such as Tan Ruisong (former Party Secretary and Chairman of Aviation Industry Corporation of China - AVIC), He Wenzhong (former Party Committee Member and Vice General Manager of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation - CETC), Wu Manqing (former Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and former General Manager of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation - CETC) has exposed full-chain quality falsification across the entire military.

2⃣War preparation needs: When fighting foreign enemies, we must never allow missiles that do not explode, radars that go blind, or aircraft that fail.

3⃣ Settling historical old accounts: The accumulated ills from decades of peace, lax acceptance, and corruption with watered-down quality—now squeeze them all dry and clean at once.

V. Summary

The ongoing "comprehensive military-industry purge of the entire PLA": thoroughly review old accounts, disassemble equipment, test performance, and investigate corruption, clearing out all "sand, water, and inferior goods." Restore a clear and pure sky to the military's construction.
