The Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have met survivors and first responders connected to the deadly Bondi Beach shooting, as their visit to Australia continues.

On the fourth day of their trip, the couple visited Bondi Beach in Sydney, where 15 people were killed and 40 injured during a Hanukkah event in December. Their visit included a stop at the Bondi Surf Bathers’ Life Saving Club, where they spoke with volunteer lifeguards praised for their bravery during the attack.

Among those they met were survivors Jessica Chapnik Khan and Elon Zizer, who recounted how they shielded their children during the violence. The Duke and Duchess listened closely as survivors shared their experiences, offering support and condolences.

Community leaders and representatives from the Sydney Jewish Museum also attended the gathering. The museum is preparing an exhibition dedicated to the tragedy, and described the royal visit as “really special” for those affected.

Later, crowds gathered near the Sydney Opera House to welcome the couple. Harry and Meghan greeted supporters before boarding a boat for a sailing event hosted by Invictus Australia.

The Invictus Games, founded by Prince Harry in 2014, supports wounded and injured military veterans. Australia previously hosted the games in 2018 during the couple’s earlier royal tour.

This marks their first return to Australia since that visit. Now no longer working royals, Harry and Meghan are touring the country in a private capacity, focusing on community engagement and charitable initiatives.
