Romneycare, the universal healthcare law, has been on the books for 20 years, and the politicians behind it turned out at Faneuil Hall Monday to take a victory lap.

“I’m proud to have been part of a team that expanded access to health insurance for so many people across Massachusetts,” said former Gov. Mitt Romney. “That achievement stands as a reminder of what’s possible when leaders set aside partisanship and focus on serving the public good. As a result, over a million residents have been able to receive preventive, wellness, and life-saving care from our world-renowned healthcare professionals.”

He was joined by Gov. Maura Healey and former governors Deval Patrick, Bill Weld, and Michael Dukakis. Plus plenty more politicians.
