Public meeting set on Neversink Bridge replacement project

NEVERSINK- Sullivan County officials are inviting residents to weigh in on a planned bridge replacement project that will impact a key local roadway.

The Sullivan County Division of Public Works will host a public informational meeting to discuss the proposed replacement of Bridge No. 301, which carries BWS Road (County Route 105B) over the Neversink River.  The project is being funded through the BridgeNY initiative.

The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Neversink Fire Department.

Attendees will have the opportunity to review preliminary design plans, learn about the project timeline, and hear how traffic will be managed during construction.  County officials and project engineers will also be on hand to answer questions and gather feedback from community members.

Engineering firm C&S Engineers, Inc., which is under contract with the county, is currently developing plans in accordance with New York State Department of Transportation requirements.  The project calls for removing the existing three-span bridge and replacing it with a modern single-span structure.

Design and planning are expected to continue through the end of 2026, with construction tentatively slated to begin in spring 2027.
