“This is exactly what I’ve been searching for.”
But what he found… wasn’t what he expected.
At first, nothing really changed.
He still drank.
Still partied.
Still lived the same life.
Until one night, everything shifted.
A close friend—drunk and out of control—lost herself completely.
What he saw shook him.
If this is what alcohol does… why am I still holding onto it?
That night, he made a decision.
He stopped—completely.
Soon after, his birthday came—at a bar.
Drinks were offered.
Drugs were passed around.
He refused them all.
“This is a test,” he told himself.
But the real challenge was deeper.
One day, while reading the teachings, he came across something that stunned him.
He realized that what society treats as normal…
was not aligned with higher standards.
That same day, he made another decision—
to change his relationship with his girlfriend.
What followed were months of struggle and pressure.
He tried to “compromise”—sleeping in the same room, then on the floor, trying to keep boundaries.
But the problem didn’t go away.
Even his dreams reflected it.
Then one day, after a simple goodbye kiss, he suddenly felt sick.
It was immediate. Unmistakable.
In that moment, he truly understood:
There are no shortcuts in cultivation.
So he stopped compromising.
Months later, the day of their wedding arrived.
Along the way, something quietly changed within him.
He became more disciplined.
More clear.
More peaceful.
People around him noticed.
One day, his grandfather stopped him and said:
“You’re like a completely different person. What happened to you?”
He simply replied:
“I practice Falun Dafa. It teaches me to be a better person.”
