FITCHBURG — Six Fitchburg East Rotary Club members were honored with the Paul Harris Fellow award at a recent meeting.

Bob Campbell, Meghan Driscoll, Mike Hurly, Ray Mahan, Vicki Manchester and Ed and Karen Howard on behalf of Bill Walsh all received the prestigious recognition that honors individuals who exemplify the values of service, leadership and humanitarianism within the Rotary International community.

According to Rotary International’s website, the Paul Harris Fellow award is one of the highest honors within the worldwide nonprofit organization. Named after Rotary International’s founder, it recognizes people who have contributed — or who have contributions in their name — of $1,000 or more to The Rotary Foundation.

Established in 1957, the award is a testament to the commitment and dedication of individuals who exemplify the organization’s ideas of service, leadership and humanitarianism. The recipients, who have all made a positive impact in their local communities and beyond, each receive a certificate, pin and medallion.
