British financial technology company Revolut has announced a record-breaking financial performance for 2025, reporting a pre-tax profit of 1.7 billion pounds (approximately $2.3 billion), marking a significant 57% increase compared to the previous year. The strong results highlight the company’s rapid growth and its continued expansion in the global digital banking sector.
According to its annual report released on Tuesday, Revolut also achieved substantial revenue growth, with total earnings reaching 4.5 billion pounds. This surge reflects increased adoption of its services, which range from digital payments and currency exchange to savings and investment products. The company has steadily positioned itself as one of the leading fintech platforms competing with traditional banks.
A major driver of this growth has been the sharp rise in its customer base. Revolut reported that it had 68.3 million retail customers in 2025, a notable increase from 52.5 million users recorded in 2024. This expansion underscores the growing demand for app-based financial services, particularly among younger and tech-savvy consumers seeking alternatives to conventional banking systems.
The company’s momentum has also been boosted by regulatory progress in its home market. Revolut recently received approval from UK regulators to move forward with launching its domestic banking operations. This development is considered a crucial step in its long-term strategy, allowing the firm to offer a broader range of financial services under a full banking license and strengthening customer trust.
Industry analysts view Revolut’s latest results as a sign of increasing maturity within the fintech space, where companies are shifting focus from rapid user acquisition to sustainable profitability. The firm’s ability to significantly grow both its revenue and profits suggests that its business model is becoming more efficient while maintaining strong customer engagement.
With its expanding global footprint, continued innovation, and entry into regulated banking, Revolut appears to be positioning itself for even greater competition with established financial institutions. The company’s leadership has indicated that it plans to keep investing in new products and markets, aiming to further scale its operations and solidify its role in the evolving digital finance landscape.
