Jerry Bisantz is keeping busy and has a couple of upcoming gigs since shutting down Image Theater earlier this year.

On March 27-April 4 is “The Rocket Man” at Worcester Museum’s Fletcher Auditorium, 30 Elm Street.

This is a musical based on Worcester’s own Dr. Robert Goddard — the man who invented Rocket Science — the inventor and researcher who through his teaching and relentless experimentation, created the first successful launch of a rocket in March of 1926.

The musical follows his life and his love — Esther, who continued to fight for his well-deserved patents well after his passing.

Worcester’s Stephen Murray has turned their love story into a charming must be seen musical — a world premiere!

“I am playing four roles in this including an older Buzz Aldrin in one scene. The music is great and it’s really a great story. Excited to be in this great show, “ said Bisantz.

On April 11 at 7 p.m. at LaLa Books on Market Street in Lowell, Bisantz participates in an evening of theatrical readings entitled “Four Old Dudes.”

Original works by Bisantz, Stephen O’Connor, Jack Dacey and David Daniel will be performed by O’Connor, Dacey, Jeff Doherty, Bisantz and Moira McCarthy Patterson.

Stephen O’Connor’s short story “St Lucy’s Day” has been adapted into a short play by Jack Dacey. It’s about four old buddies who haven’t seen each other in years, meeting at The Worthen and holding forth.

The rest of the night features original monologues and a very funny short play by Jack Dacey about a man and a new car (voiced by Moira McCarthy Patterson ) that has quite an attitude.

“The evening is a wry, nostalgic and humorous look seen through the eyes of older guys who are living in a world that, in many ways, they don’t recognize anymore,” said Bisantz.

Admission is free, and attendees are encouraged to purchase books by the writers represented.
