The United States men’s national soccer team has revealed the uniforms it will wear when it takes the field on home soil during the upcoming FIFA World Cup in June.

The new kits, designed in partnership with Nike and U.S. Soccer, feature two distinct styles: a bold red-and-white “stripes” uniform and a darker blue “stars” design.

The uniforms were introduced publicly during a morning television appearance where U.S. goalkeeper Matt Freese discussed what it would mean to represent his country at the tournament.

Freese described the possibility of making the final roster as an unforgettable milestone in his career.

“People say ‘dream come true,’ and obviously that’s a cliché,” Freese said. “But when I was dreaming about this moment years ago, we didn’t know the World Cup would be in America. So in some ways it’s even better than a dream come true.”

Two Distinct Designs: “Stripes” and “Stars”

The newly unveiled uniforms showcase two different looks inspired by elements of the American flag.

The “stripes” kit features thick red and white lines flowing across the chest, creating the appearance of a flag waving in the wind. The design is meant to be bold and instantly recognizable.

The “stars” kit, by contrast, offers a more understated look. The uniform is dark blue with subtle red accents and a faint pattern of stars incorporated into the fabric.

Both versions prominently display the USA crest on the chest, symbolizing national pride and unity.

Ronnie J. Stewart, global product director at Nike, said the two designs give fans and players different ways to represent the team.

According to Stewart, the brighter kit is meant for supporters who want a bold statement, while the darker design offers a stylish look that can also be worn casually away from the field.

Players Helped Shape the Uniform Design

Players from the national team were closely involved in the development of the new kits.

Their feedback influenced several elements, including the fit, breathability, and weight of the fabric. Even smaller details—such as seam placement and comfort during movement—were adjusted based on player input.

The goal, designers said, was to create uniforms that not only look distinctive but also enhance performance during high-intensity matches.

A Unified Look for All U.S. Soccer Teams

For the first time, the design will be worn across all national teams under U.S. Soccer, not just the senior men’s squad.

That means youth teams, women’s teams, and other national programs will share the same visual identity when competing internationally. Officials say the move is intended to strengthen the sense of unity across American soccer programs.

Jerseys to Debut Ahead of World Cup Opener

The United States men’s national soccer team is scheduled to debut the new uniforms later this month in a friendly match against the Belgium national football team.

The team will then wear the kits during its opening match of the FIFA World Cup, where it is set to face the Paraguay national football team on June 12.

The game will take place at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, marking a highly anticipated start to the tournament on American soil.
