NELSONVILLE – When Nelsonville’s 635 residents head to the polls Wednesday they will discover that the position of mayor and village trustee has no opposition.

Putnam’s smallest municipality votes each year on Village Election Day in New York State as compared to the county’s other two villages—Brewster and Cold Spring— that vote on Election Day each November.

Three members of the Nelsonville Village Board will be on the ballot to retain their seats.

Mayor Chris Winward is running unopposed for her third term, while Douglas Anderson is running for his second term and David Moroney for his fifth. Board members serve two-year terms.

Nelsonville’s two remaining trustees, Maria Zhynovitch and Alan Potts, will be on the ballot in 2027.
