LIBERTY – The Steam Fund, in partnership with Weekend of Chamber Music, held an interactive performance and workshop titled Improvisation for everyone at Liberty High School on Thursday morning. The program included students from several Sullivan County schools. The founder of the fund, Gary Siegel said, “It offered a great opportunity for highlighting arts education, student engagement, and the growing role of improvisation in music classrooms.”

The students were able to create their own music with household items.

“The improvisation that they did and the songs that they created were all improvised using different instruments and their voices, among other things.”

He says the experience gained by the students will help them later on in the real world.

“Strengthening social emotional learning and discovering creative confidence in real time.”
