Leominster resident wins $1 million on new Cash Doubler instant ticket

Elsabet Wondemu of Leominster is the first $1 million prize winner in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s new $4,000,000 Cash Doubler instant ticket game that went on sale on Feb. 17. Wondemu chose the cash option on her prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes). She said she plans on putting the winnings toward her car and mortgage. She purchased her winning ticket at 7-Eleven, 187 East Cottage St. in Dorchester. The store receives a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
