LEOMINSTER — City Grant Administrator Wendy Wiiks said that the pansies she planted outdoors in a cement pot are doing just fine despite the recent ice layer and temps being all over the place, typical for this time of year.
“No matter what the weather, Leominster City Hall plants pansies and they will be well taken care of,” she said. “After this winter, people really see it as a sign of hope.”
The vibrant, cheerful blooms are a reminder that spring is just around the corner — March 20 according to the calendar — and the 70-degree weather forecasted on Tuesday and longer daylight hours thanks to the time change over the weekend are good indicators of that.
