WEST BOYLSTON — Local photographer Keith Keirstead snapped this stunning image of the March 3 total lunar eclipse as seen over the Old Stone Church.
The West Boylston native who now lives in Shrewsbury posted the photo via his Keirstead Photography page of the full moon celestial happening that was visible in area in the wee hours of the morning on Tuesday.
Close to 1,000 people have reacted, with many leaving positive accolades including “pure magic!,” “gorgeous” and “beautiful and peaceful.”
Total lunar eclipses are often called blood moons because the orb turns a rusty red color and according to BBC’s Sky at Night Magazine approximately 6 billion people across the globe were able to view this one.
