During a recent episode of The View, co-host Whoopi Goldberg strongly defended former U.S. President Bill Clinton following renewed scrutiny surrounding his past association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The discussion took place after Clinton recently testified before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, where he stated that he had “no idea” about the crimes Epstein had committed despite their past social and professional connections.
During Tuesday’s broadcast, Goldberg addressed the controversy while other co-hosts displayed several widely circulated photos showing Clinton alongside Epstein and Epstein’s longtime associate Ghislaine Maxwell.
Goldberg pushed back against suggestions that the former president had direct involvement in Epstein’s criminal activities. She argued that while the Clintons have faced criticism for their past associations, there has been no confirmed accusation from victims linking them to the abuse network.
“You know, say what you want about the Clintons,” Goldberg said on air. “But have any of the women — or has anything in those emails — pointed to them as being guilty or having anything to do other than simply knowing these people?”
The television host continued to question whether any of Epstein’s victims had directly accused Clinton of misconduct.
“But my question is, has he been accused by any of the accusers?” Goldberg asked. “Has any of the women come out and said, ‘This is what Bill Clinton did?’”
Her remarks came as the panel discussed newly released investigative records connected to the Epstein case. In recent months, documents and photographs tied to the investigation have circulated widely in media reports, showing Epstein interacting with numerous high-profile figures in politics, business, and entertainment.
One widely shared image, taken in Washington, D.C., in December 2025, featured photographs of several public figures who had at various times been photographed with Epstein or Maxwell. Among those appearing in the image were Clinton, Mick Jagger, and Richard Branson. The images resurfaced as the United States Department of Justice began releasing long-anticipated records related to the investigation.
Goldberg’s defense of Clinton focused largely on the absence of direct allegations from Epstein’s victims against the former president. Critics, however, argue that Clinton’s repeated appearances with Epstein and Maxwell over the years warrant further scrutiny, especially given the extensive social network surrounding the disgraced financier.
Clinton had previously appeared on The View on June 5, 2025, alongside bestselling author James Patterson, where the pair promoted their collaborative novel. During that appearance, the Epstein controversy was not the primary focus of discussion.
Meanwhile, congressional investigators have continued examining the broader network of relationships tied to Epstein and Maxwell. Recent findings from the House oversight committee have also drawn attention to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and her interactions with Maxwell.
According to reporting referenced by Breitbart News journalist Sean Moran, Hillary Clinton previously stated that she had met Maxwell only “on a few occasions.” However, past media coverage has suggested Maxwell had a more visible presence in Clinton-related circles.
Reports indicate that Maxwell attended the wedding of Chelsea Clinton and was involved in activities connected to the Clinton Global Initiative, a philanthropic project launched by the former president after leaving the White House.
The renewed debate surrounding Epstein’s connections highlights the continued political and public interest in understanding how the financier maintained relationships with influential figures for years before his crimes became widely known.
While investigations and document releases continue, Goldberg’s comments on The View reflect the broader public debate: whether social connections alone imply wrongdoing or whether responsibility should only be assigned when clear accusations or evidence directly link individuals to criminal acts.
