NEW WINDSOR – Law enforcement agencies in the Mid-Hudson Valley have taken a fugitive into custody following an investigation into a residential burglary in New Windsor last month.

It turns out the same suspect, Itan Beltran, 26, of Flushing, is wanted by Massachusetts authorities.

Beltran was charged in Orange County in connection with a February 5 burglary and Massachusetts has a warrant for his arrest on burglary charges in Sharon.

In New Windsor, he has been charged with two counts of burglary and was committed to the Orange County Jail as a fugitive from justice.

Police Chief Daniel Valeri said Beltran’s apprehension was the result of a joint investigation involving local, state and federal officials. “We will continue to aggressively pursue those who target the Town of New Windsor and ensure they are brought to justice,” he said.
