Main stream media, (mostly propped up by taxpayer money)are near silent on a major deal struck with the Musqueam Indian Band, with 3 landmark agreements that will certainly have massive consequences for land owners in the immediate area as well as BC in general, because of these decisions.
- “šxʷq̓ʷal̕təl̕tən A Rights Recognition Agreement – Recognizes that Musqueam has Aboriginal rights including title within their traditional territory and establishes a framework for incremental implementation of rights and nation-to-nation relations with Canada.
- xʷməθkʷəy̓əm Stewardship & Marine Management Agreement – Establishes bilateral collaborative working groups so that Musqueam knowledge and stewardship practices will guide shared decision-making in this incremental implementation agreement to protect and manage the waters and resources within Musqueam territory.
- xʷməθkʷəy̓əm Fisheries Agreement – Supports Musqueam’s and shared decision-making role in collaborative fisheries management within Musqueam territory, and provides implementation funding as well as funding for access, vessels and gear through this incremental implementation agreement.” https://www.canada.ca/en/crown-indigenous-relations-northern-affairs/news/2026/02/musqueam-and-canada-sign-historic-agreements-recognizing-rights-stewardship-and-fisheries.html
Stories of slipping house prices, concern for the ability to sell homes and rumours of insurance companies refusing to cover are swirling as Canadians are already feeling the squeeze of increased tax burden, shrinking job markets and a strained trading relationship with our biggest trading partner, south of the border.
No one should be surprized, I guess. Canadians in general have had this empathetic suicidal mentality and the west coast is really the test bed for this type of UN take over, “You will own nothing and be happy”.
“If you think so-called “aboriginal title” will not be placed over every inch of land in British Columbia if the Reconciliation Industry and their partners in government can get away with it, then think again! This is why the Musqueam band council has been attacking me. They wanted to eliminate all dissent before making a play for the Lower Mainland. OneBC will not only repeal DRIPA and defund the Reconciliation Industry in BC, but we will also push the federal government to reverse these insane deals and amend Section 35 of the Constitution.” – Dallas Brodie, Leader of OneBC.
I wonder how agencies like CBC, Global News and CTV news are able to walk around the proverbial chasm this has created?
Will the agencies tasked with holding government bureaucrats accountable, do their job?
Will they feel the moral obligation of the countrymen they play to?
Even some US outlets have a story about this slap in the face and cuddling up to Klaus Schwab, while Canadian “news” can’t find anyone to write about the story is may bring down our country.
Quotes
“Our government was elected to meet a generational challenge: to strengthen Canada’s economy and deliver results. Advancing reconciliation is fundamental to that mission. Reconciliation is not just words, but action—where Musqueam and Canada are working to incrementally implement Musqueam’s Aboriginal rights within their territory. These represent important step forward in our nation-to-nation relationship with Musqueam. They honour Musqueam’s Aboriginal rights while strengthening the foundation of our collaborative working relationship. Together, we are building a stronger, more united Canada.”
The Honourable Rebecca Alty
Minister of Crown-Indigenous Relations Canada
“Our Musqueam community celebrates these historic agreements as a step forward in our path to Reconciliation. In signing these agreements, the Government of Canada is acknowledging Musqueam’s Aboriginal title and rights to our traditional territory and recognizing our expertise in both marine management and fisheries management. This is another example of how Musqueam is a leader and is taking a different approach on innovative agreements with partners like the Government of Canada, that benefit the greater community and contribute to a joint sustainable future.”

Original article“These agreements have come together as the result of more than ten years of discussions, collaboration and negotiation and are a testament to our strong and resilient Musqueam community. Musqueam is committed to continuing to honour and implement traditional governance practices which have guided intercommunity relationships and interactions as part of implementing these agreements, charting our path forward in the future. I thank the many members of the Government of Canada who sat beside Musqueam from the beginning, and continue to work together on the implementation, as partners.”
