ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON – The Bard College Gala, which has been postponed, will not take place anytime in the near future. In fact, it has been postponed “until further notice,” according to an email from the cochairs of the event, James Cox Chambers and Roland Augustine.
The event had been scheduled for March 26, 2026.
The email said that if donors want their contributions “to be refunded or redirected to a specific Bard program, please reach out to .”
The note continued, “Unless we hear from you, your donation will support the Bard College Fund, where all proceeds from the Gala were directed.”
There has been no explanation from anyone at or associated with the college as to why the event was shelved, but widespread speculation links it to the relationship between Bard President Leon Botstein and the late Jeffrey Epstein, who died in prison by suicide.
