FITCHBURG — The Fitchburg Public Schools Welcome Center has opened its doors at 815 Main St., across from City Hall. Mayor Sam Squailia and Deputy Chief of Staff Myles Phillips-Wilcox were recently given a tour.
Squailia said move creates one clear and accessible location for answers on enrollment, transportation, paperwork and next steps for enrolling in Fitchburg Public Schools.
“Walking through this new space, that goal is front and center … one convenient location, friendly face, and a setup built around helping families move through the process without running all over the city,” Squailia said.
The Welcome Center is now the spot for student enrollment (preK–12), student transportation and family engagement.
“Big congratulations as well to Luisa Fernandez, our new director of enrollment and family engagement. Luisa brings energy, heart, and follow through … she’s the absolute best and we’re so proud and fortunate to have her leading the way!” Squailia said.
The official ribbon-cutting will be on March 18 at 10 a.m. Contact the welcome center at 978-345-3200 ext. 5.
