PRINCETON — Families are invited to discover the secret world of owls during a Family Owl Prowl from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 28, at Wachusett Meadow Wildlife Sanctuary, at 113 Goodnow Road.
This time of year, local owls are especially vocal as they establish territory and communicate with their mates — making late winter one of the best seasons to hear their distinctive calls.
The program begins with a hands-on indoor introduction where participants will learn about owl behavior, adaptations and identification. Families will then head outdoors for a short evening hike to listen and look for owls and other nighttime wildlife whooo might be nearby.
The program is designed for families with children ages 5 and up. For more information, or to register (required), visit massaudubon.org.
