Pet of the Week: Axel has manners but is a big bruiser

He’s big and mighty, and if you’re looking for charisma, Axel is your guy.

This 4-year-old bully mix is currently with Leominster Fitchburg Animal Control officers, who are working with Animal Rescue Konnection to help find this special dog a good home.

His family could no longer keep him, and according to the ACO: “He’s strong as an ox and built like a Mack truck, so he’ll need an adopter with brawn. He generally walks well on leash, but if something sparks his curiosity, watch out. The boy can pull very hard.”

Axel has shown excellent manners alongside other shelter dogs but he does get excited — he loves to make new canine acquaintances.

He seeks an adopter, or a foster and he would be great as the only dog. He could live with a dog with a compatible temperament, and an owner who’s skilled at handling large breed dogs. No cats please. Contact [email protected] for an application.
