GOSHEN – A 58-year-old Brooklyn man pled guilty in Orange County Court to possessing over one kilogram of cocaine after he was stopped for speeding in the Town of Monroe.
Rodney Allen was charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance and could face 10 years in state prison when sentenced in May. He also faces five years of post-release supervision.
A state trooper had stopped Allen at about 10:50 p.m. on September 27, 2025. After he was stopped, the trooper observed signs of impairment and after Allen failed field sobriety tests, the officer attempted to arrest him, but Allen resisted before he was ultimately taken into custody.
A later search of his vehicle discovered the cocaine.
“We see every day the dangers posed by narcotics sold to those suffering from addiction,” said District Attorney David Hoovler. “We remain committed to holding those offenders responsible for trafficking in these poisons.”
He said the significant sentence expected in this case “should stand as a warning to those who might consider seeking to profit in the drug trade.”
