POUGHKEEPSIE – City police are continuing to investigate a shooting last Saturday, February 7, 2026, that sent a 44-year-old woman to the hospital for treatment. The shooting happened in the vicinity of 13 North White Street at approximately 2:10 a.m.
Police officials have told Mid-Hudson News that City 911 received a report of a fight in the area of 132 North White Street last Saturday. As officers were responding, a second call reported that a person had been shot at the location.
First arriving officers located a female who had been shot in the torso. She was triaged at the scene and transported to a local hospital, where she remains in critical but stable condition.
A person of interest who was on the scene when officers arrived was detained, brought to the police station for questioning, and subsequently released. The investigation is ongoing.
