FALLSBURG- Voters in the Fallsburg Central School District gave strong approval to both propositions on the district’s recent Capital Project vote, paving the way for long-planned improvements to school facilities.

Proposition 1 passed by a margin of 95 to 17 and will fund a series of renovation projects across the district, including upgrades to parking lots and sidewalks, as well as improvements to heating and air conditioning systems. District officials say these updates are aimed at improving safety, accessibility, and long-term reliability of school buildings.

Proposition 2 was also approved, with 92 voters in favor and 19 opposed. That measure authorizes the district to purchase property adjacent to Benjamin Cosor Elementary School. The additional space will allow for an expanded entryway, making it safer and more efficient for school buses and emergency vehicles to navigate the area.

District leaders emphasized that both propositions will have no impact on local taxpayers.

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Ivan Katz thanked the community for its support following the vote. “We will now be able to move forward with necessary repairs, replacements, and renovations to improve our school district facilities for many years to come,” Katz said. “Your voice matters.”
