WORCESTER — The Miss Worcester County Scholarship Organization is scouting for the next generation of leaders to take the stage at Leominster City Hall on Feb. 21.

More than just a pageant, the competition is a launchpad for young women in Massachusetts to secure funding for their education, sharpen their professional branding and advocate for causes they care about.

The organization is calling on women and girls ages 13 to 28 who live, work or attend school full-time in Massachusetts and there are four titles are up for grabs this year — Miss Worcester County, Miss Blackstone Valley, and their respective teen titles.

According to Miss Worcester County Scholarship Organization Director Steve Smith the organization’s mission is to highlight the “whole person, combining intellect, talent and community spirit.”

“We are looking for authentic voices, not just ‘pageant pros.’ We heavily encourage those with no prior experience to apply,” he said. “This is a journey centered on personal growth, building confidence and finding a supportive sisterhood of ambitious peers.”

Contestants will be evaluated across five dynamic phases — private interview, talent/HERstory, evening wear, fitness wear and on-stage question.

The four winners crowned in February will advance to the Miss Massachusetts and Miss Massachusetts’ Teen competitions, held this June at the historic Hanover Theatre in Worcester.

In addition to the chance to represent their community on a state level, winners receive merit-based scholarships for higher education, professional prize packages including photography sessions and personal branding, and expert coaching in public speaking and interview techniques.

The contestant call deadline is Feb. 13. Interested candidates can visit missworcestercounty.com or email [email protected] to request a candidate information packet.
