The 2026 Qatar TotalEnergies Open marks the first WTA 1000 tournament of the season and once again places Doha at the heart of the global tennis calendar. Hosted at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex, the event welcomes the world’s leading players to compete on outdoor hard courts in one of the most prestigious stops of the Middle East swing.

The top eight seeds receive a first-round bye in singles competition.

The 2026 edition features an elite field of international stars, highlighted by defending champion Amanda Anisimova, who returns to Doha aiming to retain her title.

Former Doha champion Iga Świątek leads the top contenders, alongside Grand Slam champion Coco Gauff and 2024 finalist Elena Rybakina.

Several notable players are absent this year, including Aryna Sabalenka, Jessica Pegula and Belinda Bencic. Despite these withdrawals, the depth and strength of the field ensure another week of world-class tennis in Doha.
